Trust fall in a classroom in Bellarmine, one Thursday afternoon.
It’s more fun being a Psych major.
(January 12, 2012)
During the New Year, my Tita Odette had her ballroom-themed party. Good thing I know a bit of it myself, thanks to Ateneo Dancesports PE!
Time sure flies when you’re having fun, and before we knew it, Tita Odette is now 60. When I’m that age I hope I’ll be as graceful and elegant as she is.
Also, my dweeby brother Bryan who is 1/2 of a dynamic Bernarte twin team, came with mommy and myself because I forced him to dress up in black long sleeves folded until the elbows. He says that look is for “wannabes” and I tell him “no, yung mga kilala kong ganyan magsuot ng polo, mga gwapo.” Oh well.
January 1st, 2012
It is a birth day for everyone. I get my 19th chance.
Reason number 1 why I missed out on debating in Worlds and chose to go home for the holidays: Wedding in the Family!!
My cousin, Mary Anne married her boyfriend of six years, TR. The last wedding in the family was when I was still little and was the flower girl for all seasons (haha) and my twin brothers would be the ring bearer and coin bearer package.
One of the best things about Ate’s wedding is that all my cousins from the States flew home after a couple of years of not visiting. We had a full house the whole vacation, and I couldn’t be any happier than having my hands full with little nephews and nieces I haven’t met since they were born, or helping mommy cook Filipino food for the people who constantly ask for fish, Chippy and delicacies from the Philippines via FedEx or something.
I wonder who’ll get married next in the family?

2 days before the New Year!
I had five hours to kill this afternoon. I was alone, so I thought it would be great to finish my Christmas shopping for my family. I braved the jeepney rides going to SM North EDSA since I really wanted to learn how to commute this way and at the same time save some money to buy more stuff instead of wasting it on cab fare (traffic eats up the meter). I got there just fine, only with my hair a bit tousled and my heart sort of skipping since this dude got down from his car and started shrieking at our jeepney driver.
I have this strong feeling that I was able to enter all the stores in the mall. I spent so much time in the Korean cosmetic stores (The Face Shop, Etude House, Nature Republic, Tony Moly) - and boy, I do love them. I couldn’t resist but buy from each, but as an excuse I’m giving all of them away as presents :p
Anyway this really caught my attention. A Lego exhibit was spread out at the middle of The Block, and several kids had their faces and hands pressed on the glass even if the case clearly says “Please Don’t Lean on the Glass.” Normally, I wouldn’t bother at exhibits at the center of any mall because I’d be too embarrassed to look like one of those extremely awed people. Today I just felt like a kid again, reminiscing about my own Lego collection. I had the village with the little policemen in cars, I had the firemen, the school, everything!
Lately I’ve been doing so many happy dances in my head. Tomorrow I’ll be home with my family again. I’ll be like this Lego exhibit. Sure, I stand alone just fine. I bought my Legos box by box, every week. But it definitely becomes greater if you build the Legoworld with all the pieces and adorable tiny people in it, just like my family- we’re everywhere, but we do need to come together at some point.
December 17, 2011- 8 days before Christmas!
It seems like everyone partied yesterday. I had two: Block Y1’s Christmas dinner and Block G’s red box night/Manor party. I didn’t have to choose but instead I went to both- so here we are, celebrating the last day of class in 2011 <3
(Belated happy birthday, Jurgs!)
Thanks guys, for ending my sixth straight week of going out. This is really not me, so I’d prefer going back to the goody homebody that I am during Fridays. My liver needs a rest.
December 16, 2011- 9 days before Christmas!
After three years, we meet again.
(Happy 19th birthday, Idda! <3 )
